Melansir data Refinitiv, pada penutupan perdagangan hari ini (24/12/2024) rupiah melemah 0,09% ke level Rp16.185/US$. Sepanjang hari, nilai tukar rupiah berfluktuasi hingga sentuh level Rp16.150/US$ dan terjauh di posisi Rp16.215/US$.
Seiring dengan penurunan rupiah hari ini (24/12/2024), Indeks Dolar AS (DXY) menguat sebesar 0,11% tepat pukul 15.00 di posisi 108,15. Penguatan DXY ini menjadi penekan utama lesunya rupiah pada penutupan pasar sore ini (24/12/2024).
Pelemahan rupiah saat ini dipicu oleh sentimen dari luar negeri, terutama dampak dari rilis berbagai data ekonomi Amerika Serikat (AS) yang memberikan petunjuk mengenai kebijakan suku bunga The Fed.
Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi adalah penurunan signifikan dalam indeks kepercayaan konsumen AS pada bulan Desember yang turun menjadi 104,7, jauh lebih rendah dari prediksi para ekonom yang mengharapkan kenaikan. Kepala Departemen Pengelolaan Moneter dan Aset Sekuritas BI, Edi Susianto, menjelaskan bahwa langkah pertama adalah mempertahankan suku bunga acuan atau policy rate di angka 6%, yang bertujuan untuk menekan inflasi dan menarik investor untuk berinvestasi di Indonesia.
Selain itu, BI juga berupaya menarik modal asing ke Indonesia melalui instrumen investasi yang menarik, seperti Sekuritas Rupiah Bank Indonesia (SRBI), Sekuritas Valas Bank Indonesia (SVBI), dan Sukuk Valas Bank Indonesia (SUVBI), yang diharapkan dapat mendukung stabilitas rupiah di pasar keuangan.
Edi menambahkan bahwa BI juga melakukan intervensi langsung di pasar, baik di pasar spot maupun di pasar Domestic Non-Deliverable Forward (DNDF), untuk memastikan pasar tidak mengalami kepanikan.
Di sisi lain, BI memastikan ketersediaan likuiditas rupiah menjelang akhir tahun agar pasar tetap stabil, terutama di sektor perbankan dan perdagangan. Bank Indonesia juga terus berkoordinasi dengan pihak otoritas lainnya serta berkomunikasi dengan pelaku pasar untuk memberikan rasa tenang dan menghindari kekhawatiran lebih lanjut di kalangan eksportir, importir, dan pelaku pasar finansial.
